Which device(s) do you want to charge?

Each device has its own energy consumption, connections and supporting systems. There are many smartphones that support fast charging. We recommend that you check whether your smartphone supports Power Delivery (e.g. Apple) or Quick Charge (e.g. Android) so you will be sure you can fastcharge your smartphone or device with a power bank.

If you want to be able to charge multiple devices simultaneously, it is best to choose a power bank with multiple connections. This way, you can both charge your smartphone on a road trip for example. What capacity powerbank do I need?

There is a big difference in energy consumption and charging time per device. Low-capacity power banks (up to 10,000 mAh) are more suitable for charging smartphones or action cameras (such as GoPro). If you want to charge a tablet or laptop, a power bank with a higher capacity (20,000 mAh or more) is required. A smartphone can be charged twice as often with a 20,000 mAh power bank compared to a 10,000 mAh power bank. A 20,000 mAh power bank, on the other hand, is heavier to carry.

What is the main use of the power bank?

To choose the right power bank, it is important to know why you need the power bank and when you will mainly use it. Do you want to be able to charge your smartphone during a festival or on holiday? Do you want to charge your devices on a shoot or while vlogging? Or do you want to be able to charge your tablet or laptop while working remotely?

A power bank is essential to take with you on a trip. You will not have to worry about an empty battery, and you don’t have to depend on finding a socket. However, if you want to take a power bank with you on the plane, you are bound by a number of rules.

• Power banks are not allowed in the hold, only in hand luggage;
• You can bring a maximum of 27,000 mAh (100 watt hours);
• Maximum 2 power banks.

Tip: Make sure you have (the information on) the power bank with you at the airport. By doing so, you can prevent your power bank not being allowed on board and being confiscated by the security.
